Under a program begun by Manet Health
Center, granite 'mileage markers' are
spaced 1/4-mile apart for a span of two miles, embedded
in the sidewalk, along the Quincy Shore Drive
seawall, as an incentive for walkers and runners alike to
challenge themselves on their personal health and fitness
program.The markers run from opposite Caddy Park to the corner
Quincy Shore Drive and West Squantum St.
mileage markers measure 12” X 20” and have been hand etched (by
Monti Granite) with the donor's name and logo. 4 of the 12 markers
are placed at the "Pavillion" at West Elm Ave, the mid-way point of
"Road to Fitness"

The Friends of Wollaston
The Friends of Wollaston Beach (in Quincy MA)
is an organization promoting public use of Wollaston Beach,
preserving and protecting the fragile ecosystems, and addressing the
quality of life issues relating to the Beach. The goal of the Association
is to promote the wise use and preservation of the Beach,
encouraging volunteerism, alerting others to issues affecting the
Beach through educational, cultural, social and civic programs, and
advocating on behalf of Beach users.
Annual Dues $10 per family. Payable at any
